I have a book that means a lot to me as a mother who has lost a grown son due to a completed suicide.  I am now open to his communications, which are infrequent, but unmistakable.

This book helped me to 'listen' when he communicates.

The book is 'Conversations with Jerry and Other People I Thought Were Dead, by Irene Kendig.  If you decide to purchase this book I don't believe you'll be sorry.  It is the most loving, non-judgmental look at this side and the 'other side' I've ever read~ Please tell Irene I sent you.  You can find her website and order directly from her or go to Amazon.com

I recommend it highly!  I would love to hear your comments after you've read her book.

    Enjoy!  ~Judy

communication from above

While taking care of my Mother she talked to more than a few of her family who had passed away. I can not explain it but she talked to them and repeated the conversations to me. Also I have talked to other caregivers who relate simular incidints. Also small children and animals seem to be a part of this. Although I do not know who the 'little blonde headed boy' was I believe she saw him. An animals seems to be part of this mystery also. Several people have related these stories and usually it…

Children and Adults Have Similar Near-Death Experiences (NDEs)

Like adults, children can also become critically ill and near death. Their near-death experiences (NDEs) are nearly identical to those of many adults. When they return to living, both children and adults perceive themselves as changed. For nearly two decades, pediatrician Melvin Morse has been documenting near-death experiences of critically ill children. He says these children have perceptions that the light they saw during the NDE will be with them always. When they return from the brink of…

The Soul Lives On

My only brother died when he was 38. I was 4 years younger. He was my best friend, and I was devestated at his passing (drug overdose). Several months after his death, I awoke in the morning to the feel of someone sitting down on my water bed next to me. I turned expecting to see my husband. It wasn't my husband, it was my brother. He looked at me and said, "The soul survives." That was all, but I not only SAW him, I FELT the bed dip when he sat down! He was gone just as quickly. The strangest…

Surviving Hospice: A Chaplain's Journey into the Big Business of Dying Plus: How To Find a Trustworthy Hospice

This narrative is an insider’s look into the hijacking of hospice by private equity and professional investors and the subsequent harm to patients, their families, and to the interdisciplinary clinical teams. It was released by a NYC publisher on October 31, 2023. For sale on Amazon.

The author, a hospice chaplain, tells end-of-life stories of her patients who were harmed by financially-motivated policies. This is a book for anyone who is embarking on making a choice about a hospice for their loved one, working chaplains, those in training, and those interested in what dying is like with a hospice who places patients as their primary stakeholders.

Maryclaire's experience working for an owner who sold to a private equity firm helped her to realize that the reputation and viability of hospice is in jeopardy. Her goal is to alert all who love hospice to rid it of professional investors.

— Stacy Juba, author, editor, and award-winning health journalist

"Powerful, beautifully written, and eye-opening, this book spotlights the inner workings of a multi-billion-dollar industry and the effect on patients, families, and hospice staff. The author shares poignant accounts of hospice at its best and worst and the hard-hitting truths she learned on her journey. A must-read for family members exploring hospice care."

— Laura Kukowski, CEO, editor, For-Profit Badger Hospice, LLC

"Maryclaire Torinus speaks with authority, providing this essential handbook for choosing a hospice care team and why that selection really matters."

Greg Schneider President, HVA, co-author of The Changing Face of Hospice Volunteering in Hospice and Palliative Care

"When I first found out that Maryclaire Torinus was writing this book, I immediately contacted her because in my 25+ years supporting hospice volunteers, I have seen a gradual decline in the quality of care volunteers are permitted to provide the dying and their families. There are a variety of reasons for this that I describe in the Foreward of this book. Maryclaire provides invaluable insights that everyone should know, along with solutions to help others make the right choice in choosing a hospice."
