Hospice Volunteer Connections

I'm sure that all hospice workers have stories about the connections to the patients and families that they serve.  Greg Schneider has been a hospice volunteer for over 15 years and shares a story about a Serendipitous Connection that was made when he first started as a hospice volunteer.  What was most interesting was the fact that connection was made in Boston and he was a volunteer in San Francisco. The story shows the intricate way that we weave webs of "compassionate connection" with those we serve.

In addition, these connections can continue on and arise many years later as it did for Greg.  The story shows that it can occur even when the patient who is dying is not a patient at your hospice.

  • Thanks Irene. I always appreciate your perspective. I'm living in the Bay Area once again...maybe we can get together one of these days for a cup of tea or something. Blessings.

  • Thank you Greg for posting this beautiful story of how sacred life is if we pay attention. What I love is that you recognize this Divine sequence of events and honor the master weaver. Blessings
