I am looking for a job description for Hospice Volunteer Manager. My administrator would like to change my job title from VC to VM and asked me to see if I could find something in any regs that use the verbage Volunteer Manager instead of Volunteer Coordinator as it relates to hospice specifically. Most of us are doing the job of management more than coordination, even though we also coordinate. I found a VM description in the newest NHPCO Volunteer manual, however was wondering if anyone out there had another? Thanks, Kathleen

  • I am so happy that your administrator wants to change your title to recognize what you do. I really don't think your job description would change from what it currently says, unless they are planning to hire a person to work under you as the volunteer coordinator. Then you would want to add supervision standards in your description. I would review what is in the NHPCO manual to what you currently have and go from there.
