  • I use the calculator at http://www.handsonnetwork.org/tools/volunteercalculator and enter such job descriptions as "Healthcare workers all others" and "office administrative support"
  • there are generally 2 ways for calculate cost saving. You can use the national standard for volunteer work around $20.85 per hour or you work with your company to determine rates for the different volunteer opportunities. I am currently using amounts similar to what compnay would pay a staff person to visit (typically CNA) however, if I am using a professional volunteer the rate might be established to what professional skill that volunteer bring to the table.  Hope this helps
