Can words heal?

Someone just sent me a great YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ehlw-9PJkIE
It measures the effects of words and energy sent to beakers of rice and water.  So often as a hospice volunteer, I see a person bounce back to a better quality of life after they begin to get hospice care.  I got to thinking about the rice experiment....essentially, aren't hospice workers at all levels sending love and positive energy to our patients with every visit, conversation, bath, or silent presence?  If this can affect rice and water in such a way, don't we all benefit to an unlimited extent when this love is shared?

  • As an energy worker, I am very conscious of the power of words;whether spoken or not, as

thoughts are words unspoken which can have just as powerful an effect as words shared.

    Great post:)

  • Sarah,

Nice post...never really thought about what we do that way.  Beautiful!!  I'm sure Irene Smith could add some perspective to this concept.

    Thanks for posting!!

  • As a writer, I am very conscious of the power of words spoken and unspoken. They have an energy far beyond our perceptions. We can all help channel that energy in positive ways.
    • Thanks Frances, I agree.  I often feel that when I look into the eyes of a nonverbal hospice patient, that they are saying so much.  I know that they understand that I truly see the shining light of their spirit.
